Grading Requirements

Notes:

*These are minimum requirements. Normally, more would be expected of the candidate before grading.

*Students need to be registered & paid up members in order to qualify for grading.

*A normal weekly class is counted as one Practice session. Weekend intensive practices are counted as two practice sessions. A full weekend seminar training is counted as five training sessions. Private training with an instructor can also be counted as practice sessions depending on the situation.

*Senior grades & licenses are awarded in line with requirements discussed between instructors and students.

*In general, grades are indicators of technical proficiency.

*Teaching license are authorisations to transmit the techniques of aiki. Therefore, teaching licenses have additional requirements and conditions outside of practice hours.

Sandan (Third Dan) 18 months & 100 practice sessions after Nidan 
Okugi sandan (Inner third Dan) 18 months & 100 practice sessions after Sandan Hakama
